Pipers Farm chicken have a wonderful texture and a real depth of flavour. Many people who eat it for the first time comment that they had forgotten that chicken had real flavour!

So good, needs little embellishment or complicated sauces. Work a little chopped tarragon (a herb that combines wonderfully with chicken) into some soft butter and spread over the bird. Roast, following our clear simple cooking instructions on the label. Serve with plain Basmati rice or vegetables and the rich buttery juices.

(Afterwards, simmer the bones slowly to create a rich chicken stock for making sensational soups and casseroles).

Our Roasting tip:

A whole oven-ready chicken is cooked as soon as:
1.  the meat starts to shrink away from the knuckle end of the leg, and
2.  if you twist the knuckle to the side, the bone turns freely
 
Allow to rest for 10 minutes before carving.
